Killi Fish Nederland (or KFN) :

is a Dutch association for breeders and keepers of the Oviparous Cyprinodontid Fishes, better known as "Killies"; |
|
contributes to the extension of our knowledge about the Killies and their natural environment; |
|
organizes 2 monthly meetings, in the even months, with slideshows, expedition-reports, workshops, methods of breeding and various other experiences about these special aquariumfishes; |
|
during these meetings KFN offers her members a possibility to exchange, buy and/or sell many of these (self-bred) species, that one normally cannot or rarely find in the aquariumshops, for reasonable prices; |
|
organizes a yearly International Killifish Show, with contributions of Killifish Associations from all over the world, where one can admire approximately 400 pairs of Killies, that are to be auctioned on the last day of the Show; |
|
publishes its own periodical magazine called: "Killi Nieuws", which is published 6 times per year and contains species-descriptions and many informative articles, illustrated with color- and B&W-pictures; |
|
publishes an annually updated "Species Maintenance List" in which you can find which member is currently keeping which species. This list is becoming more and more important over the years, as protective legislation is putting more and more restrains on the commercial import and export of (wild- caught) fishes. By means of this list the status quo of in free nature endangered (or completely extinct) species that are still in the hands of capable hobbyists can be monitored, and if necessary, regulated. |

keeps in close contact with other Killifish Associations, breeders, scientists and research-expeditions all over the world; |
|
also welcomes aquarium-associations and Institutions as a member; |
|
invites you to visit a non-binding meeting at the: Sociaal Cultureel Centrum "De Twee Marken", Trompplein nr.5 in Maarn (NL). Meetings are held here every THIRD Saturday of the EVEN months from 13.00 till 16.00 Hrs. |
